To leave their ‘follower competitor’ behind, the latest Erha Clinic in Surabaya surprisingly introduced a completely different appearance ... a colonial feel. Not to be trapped to instantly copy the old architecture, all designers cooperated to design still a modern environment while taking clue from the past colonial wisdom. Latest material and light source as LED were incorporated in lighting design to produce the desired ambiance while maintaining the cost of operation and maintenance. The key in general was to conceal the ‘modern’ light source to keep the visual feel of ‘oldies’ but still to illuminate properly in term of brightness, color and contrast.
